Welcome to the Office of the University Architect
The Office of the University Architect is the University’s physical, campus and capital planning office system-wide. This office has oversight on the architectural design of projects with a change to the exterior or significant interior modification, as well as an addition or completely new facility for all NMSU-owned or affiliated sites. The University Architect and Campus Planning Office supports the vision of the university through the administration, implementation and enforcement of the Comprehensive Master Plan. The architect, designers and planners on staff direct capital resource planning, space utilization, strategic sustainability development, and graphics for signage and wayfinding. Campus committees managed by these various disciplines include the Campus Planning Committee (CPC), the Space Committee, the Sustainability Council, Local Selection Committee for Art in Public Places, Building Committees for new buildings on campus, and the Master Planning Core Committee.
